Ceionna Simpson, 10, leaps in the air as she watches her reflection in the front window while her sister, E'Lena Simpson, 8, plays on the couch with the family dog, Bella, Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014 at their home in Fort Gratiot. The girls, who had been living in foster care with Chad and Michele Simpson for two years, were official adopted by them two days later on the 31st. "The first week we were fostering Ceionna and E'Lena, I came home to a note taped to my bedroom door asking us to please adopt them," Michele Simpson said. "Ceionna and E'Lena went through hunger and homelessness," she said. "They never knew where they would be sleeping at night, and sometimes they would be left alone." The Simpsons have a third adopted daughter, Jazmyne, 11, and three biological children. "They take care of us. Now we don't have to move a lot, and we have food and clothing now," Ceionna said. "And when I first met my dad, I just thought he was the funniest dad ever."
