A look back at 4 years

Banding Bald Eagle Chicks

Therese Best carries a bald eagle chick over to her husband Dave Best, as they work on banding and taking blood samples Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at the DTE Belle River Power Plant in China Township. Dave Best, a retired U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee, is currently working for the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality to monitor bald eagle chicks as part of a water quality monitoring project.

Port Huron-to-Mackinac Island Sailboat Race

Some of my favorite photos from shooting aerials of the 92nd Port Huron-to-Mackinac Island Sailboat Race. While this year's start was not as colorful as last, with the wind being out of the north (colorful spinnakers are used when there is a south wind), the wind direction seemed to make for an even more aggressive start, with the boats all lining up parallel to the east-west facing starting line, jockeying for the best position.
